Fearless Friday Super 7 Softball Rankings (4/14/2025)

By Kyle Sutherland

With just over a month remaining in the 2025 season it is starting to become evident which teams are separating themselves.

Class 6A No. 1 and nationally ranked Bentonville has a huge week ahead with 6A-West conference matchups against No. 2 No. 4 Rogers (Tues.) and No. 2 Springdale Har-Ber (Thurs.) before heading down to Texas to square off against Melissa High on Saturday, who is the top-ranked squad in essentially every national poll.

Benton fell to Saline County foe Bryant by a run in a non-conference matchup for a great cause, but held onto the No. 1 spot in 5A.

Both top squads in Class 4A had big weekends as No. 1 Pea Ridge closed out the BDI Invitational in Rogers with a 1-0 triumph over 5A defending state runner-up Beebe, while No. 2 Gentry shutout 6A No. 2 Springdale Har-Ber. The Blackhawks and Pioneers face off on Thursday at Pea Ridge. Malvern slid into the Super 7 for the first time after hanging tough in the ‘Outside Looking In’ for a while following a win over Bauxite. However, due to head-to-head wins over No. 4 Star City and No. 5 Lonoke, Bauxite held onto its spot at No. 3 for now.

Class 3A featured the most notable move as Mayflower took the top spot, flipping with DeWitt which had been No. 1 since mid-March. Lincoln earned its way back into the Top 5 while the Smackover Lady Bucks took the No. 6 spot for their first Super 7 appearance after shutting out Fouke.

There were no changes in Class 2A, but Woodlawn did become the first team regardless of classification to reach 20 wins on the season and Bigelow notched a one-run upset over Quitman.

In Class 1A, the seven-time defending state champion and top-ranked Taylor Tigers continued to roll. Senior ace Ayla Buford – a three-time 1A State Tournament Most Valuable Player – surpassed 500 career strikeouts in Friday’s shutout victory over Hermitage.
