Fearless 40: Batesville Pioneers
Our Fearless 40 previews continue with the Batesville Pioneers.
It was another tough season for head coach Ryan Morrow and company. Just two wins, eight losses in 2024.
The Pioneers started eight sophomores last fall. Turning the ball over also didn’t help, giving up the rock 14 times last year.
This year, Batesville returns a lot of experience. All-state kicker Jackson Elam is back. All-conference players like quarterback Cole Bentz, offensive lineman Bruce Smith and linebacker Jake Daughterty return.
Despite struggling the last two seasons, the expectations for the Pioneers never change. Win their conference, host a playoff game and make a run in the state playoffs.
It all starts with that first opponent, against Searcy on August 29th.
